Venue
Rothera Research Station is spectacularly located on Adelaide Island in the Antarctic Peninsula, just over 800 miles from the coast of South America.
Getting There
A twin propeller Dash 8 aircraft has been specially chartered to transport attendees directly to the research station (and is included in the ticket price), which will depart from Ushuaia in Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina on the morning of Monday 30th April.
Ushuaia can be reached easily from Buenos Aires with several flights departing daily from Ministro Pistarini International Airport and the smaller, domestic Jorge Newbery airport.

The Local Area
May is a winter month and although conditions at this time of year may be hazardous, natural ice formations will provide unforgettable landscapes and there’s even a small chance of catching the aurora australis (or “southern lights”).
Wildlife that call Adelaide Island home include royal, king, gentoo, and rockhopper penguins, as well as elephant and fur seals. Rothera also contains one of the few aquariums in the Antarctic!
Although evening social events will be kept within the confines of the research station, guided tours of the near vicinity may be available, weather permitting.
