Call For Papers
For the first time for an @media conference, we are inviting proposals for presentations to be given at @media 2007 Asia.
If you think you would make a good speaker, and have something interesting to say about best practice, web standard web design and development, we want to hear from you!
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal speaker will be a confident, experienced web designer/developer with a good understanding of web standards and best practices in web design.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you must be able to deliver your presentation in English confidently and clearly.
Please note that we will only accept submissions from Asian residents.
What We’re Looking For
We want something that will fit in well with the current schedule.
The theme of the event is best practices (largely through web standards) in web design and front-end development. Topics we are interested in are interface design, usability, (X)HTML, CSS, and related areas.
The presentation will need to be approximately 45-50 minutes long, and will be followed by questions and answers.
A few things we’re not looking for are “sales pitches” (the presentation must be primarily educational) or presentations about Flash development or server-side languages
Submission Guidelines
You will need to send two things:
Firstly, we want to know about you. Briefly explain who you are, where you live, your professional history and whom you currently work for, and why you are qualified to present at @media. Try to keep this to under 200 words.
Secondly, we want to hear what you want to talk about. You can include up to three brief outlines for presentations, no longer than 200 words long each.
Please email this information to atmedia2007@vivabit.com. The deadline for submissions is Friday 16th March.
We may follow-up on submissions with a query or two, but we will aim to select speakers by the end of March.
Selected speakers will be contacted and asked to guarantee their attendance, and they must make their own travel and accommodation arrangements for the conference.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
